Collection: Marie Eve Kia
A graduate painter from the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and a DPLG architect, Marie Eve Kia was born and lives in Paris.
"My work focuses on the materialization of color and movement. My expression is deliberately abstract, even if there is sometimes a figurative intention. My themes are Life, Faith, and Beauty. Music accompanies me throughout my work. Painting is an inner journey that gives life to colors. Body and mind are engaged to modulate lines and curves, to imbue the brushstrokes with intention. I gradually build up my colors until they are revealed. I like to saturate them, thicken them, build them to their maximum opacity, give them consistency, and allow, or not, transparency. Their associations and combinations make them unique and give them new identities, specific to each canvas. Like musical notes, they interact and converse in rhythm and harmony. I then take great care in joining them: I border them, I sew them in the manner of patchwork or stained glass."
Painting is mute, yet it speaks to us; painting is solitary. Painting makes us reflect, it invites meditation, allowing our souls to wander. Painting is nourishment. It is essential to me. It is my voice, my reflection; it is infinite and generous.
