Alain Vuillemet's monumental works are the product of metallic metamorphoses. Like an alchemist, Alain Vuillemet transforms sheets of stainless steel, brass and steel into a work of art that plays with shapes and volumes to create abstract symbols. Each sculpture becomes a magical object invested with its own power.

Using the tools of the industry, the 100-ton press, the welding stations, the plasma cutting stations, the grinders, the grinding and polishing wheels become the artist's pencils.
Alain Vuillemet deforms the material, creating hollows and bumps forming waves that stretch and relax the metal. Like skins, the metal sheets are worked on the surface, scarified, ground, the use of abrasives with different grains, the opposed grinding gives depth to the surfaces creating holographic effects that give the viewer the impression of entering the material.

The viewer uses his imagination to contemplate and decipher the works of Alain Vuillemet, understand the cosmic symbols, forget the metal and live a metaphysical experience.
