Collection: Benjamin Georgeaud

Biography

Born in 1980, Benjamin Georgeaud discovered sculpture during his first trip to Florence at the age of 15.

After graduating from high school, he decided to devote himself fully to his art. He joined the studios of Jonathan Hirschfeld and Zoltan Zsako, while also taking evening classes in drawing and morphological analysis at the Beaux-Arts studios of the Paris City Hall.

In 2002, Benjamin exhibited his work to the general public for the first time at the 15th arrondissement artists' fair and received the Special Jury Prize.

In 2006 Benjamin created his own workshop in Paris and since 2010 he has been based in Montreuil.

In 2009, at the Paris Autumn Salon, Benjamin Georgeaud received the "Géant des Beaux-Arts" Prize for his bronze sculpture "The Pain of Nausicaa." In 2012, he received the Bronze Medal from the Society of French Artists at the Grand Palais.

Known for his portraits and bas-reliefs, he was chosen to create the Korean characters for the opening of the Grévin Museum in Seoul.

His work around and based on the human body creates powerful works, bronzes of astonishing density, but where life always surfaces. His interest in the circus finds a perfect justification in his way of interpreting movement; his works, often very evocative, convey a mixture of strength and elegance.

Benjamin was chosen to create the "Artistika" trophy, the ultimate award for artists at the Visp Circus Festival (Switzerland).

In 2017, his circus-themed collection was presented to the general public at the 38th Cirque de Demain festival in Paris.

Today, his work is featured in numerous collections and galleries across Europe, and he has completed numerous private commissions for collectors.
