Bernard Marie Collet – The soul of the tropics on the web

Painter of plant breath and vibrant colors, Bernard Marie Collet infuses his works with a unique energy, oscillating between abstraction and figuration. Born in 1940, he trained at the Académie Julian and the Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he rubbed shoulders with the great names of the Nouvelle École de Paris. His career was marked by a decisive encounter with Frans Krajcberg, an artist and passionate defender of nature, who profoundly influenced his view of the world and his artistic commitment.

In his studio, Collet captures the light and abundant life of tropical landscapes. His works are an invitation to travel , an immersion in a lush garden where birds, foliage and aquatic reflections converse in a vibrant palette. Each canvas is an ode to nature, a celebration of movement and chromatic harmonies, where oil, pastel and acrylic blend in a subtle balance between mastery and spontaneity.

A globetrotter of the imagination, he also draws his inspiration from his travel journals, sketching in pastel the Mediterranean shores, the cliffs of Greece, the reliefs of Jordan... So many fragments of sublime landscapes, reinterpreted through his pictorial language.

Since 2010, Bernard Marie Collet has enriched the universe of the Galerie Plurielle in Sète , bringing his luminous signature and his poetic view of the world. His works, true windows open onto tropical exuberance, seduce art lovers in search of escape and vitality.
