Collection: Michelle CAUSSIN-BELLON

Michelle Caussin-Bellon uses a unique and rare technique, blending the ancestral tradition of Moroccan Tadelakt with a contemporary pictorial practice. Her art, polychrome on wood, is a symphony of lime, marble powder and mineral pigments bound with rigorous precision. She is the only one in the world to have developed this approach as a pictorial technique. Inspired by her background in interior design and her work in Morocco, Michelle Caussin-Bellon learned the secrets of Tadelakt from ancient Moroccan plasterers, which she then integrated into her own artistic language.

Each painting she creates is a meticulous exploration of materials and colours, where the wood is carefully prepared and then coated using metal spatulas. The process requires a precise temperature, between 15° and 19°, and a limited execution time of around 30 minutes, where each movement must be perfectly mastered. Once the coating is dry, the work is polished with extreme care, requiring up to 40 hours of polishing for an 80 x 80 cm painting. The surface thus obtained is of an incomparably softness, evoking the caress of polished marble.

Michelle Caussin-Bellon's works are known for their smooth, glossy finish and their ability to capture light with a unique intensity. Moving from a figurative style to a free and expressive abstraction, she frees colors and shapes, letting the material speak. Her creations are present in prestigious collections around the world, including the Henan Museum of Fine Arts in China, the Matsuyama Museum in Japan, and many others. She has been honored with numerous distinctions, such as the Medal of Arts-Sciences and Letters in 2017 and a special recognition by the Polish Ministry of Culture in 2023 for her Tadelackt "Le souffle de mon Âme."

In parallel with her artistic career, Michelle Caussin-Bellon has also contributed to artistic training by teaching drawing, perspective and live modeling for 35 years in the school she founded. She continues to promote art through her association "L'art de cœur de l'art", which organizes International Pastel Biennials, bringing together artists and art lovers from all over the world.

His works are not only objects of contemplation but also invitations to explore the dialogue between raw material and the elegance of refined forms, between tradition and innovation. A true artistic journey where each painting tells a story of mastery, passion and authenticity.
