Collection: Krugh
Krugh is a French expressionist whose artistic universe blends strength and poetry with singular audacity. Inspired by Cubism, Postmodernism, and abstract art, he also draws on the influences of Picasso, Miró, and Basquiat to create a personal style, somewhere between figurative and abstract. Echoes of Chagall and the CoBrA movement can also be found in his work.
His paintings, imbued with mysticism, often invite the viewer to look up to the heavens, like his characters. Krugh's canvases captivate with their intensity: the vibrant colors balance the gentleness of the themes and tirelessly draw the eye.
His expressionist approach favors a raw and naive style of painting, combining power and delicacy. Krugh works with mixed media: acrylic, oil pastel, and spray paint. His lines, reduced to their essence, accurately express spontaneous emotion in a poetic, symbolic, and spiritual language.
Through his works, Krugh interprets his era and his daily life with profound sincerity, leaving everyone free to feel and interpret.
Glib Viches (1962–), a doctor of art history and editor-in-chief of a contemporary art magazine, writes:
"We are witnessing a creative reinvention of postmodern painting in Krugh's paintings… The presence of a distinctively recognizable style informs us of the artist's talent and fulfillment of his destiny… I sincerely congratulate the artist on his impressive exhibition" (April 2022).
