Artistic approach

My work explores the notion of protection and self-protection through a series of figures and busts that embody a fictional narrative. These characters, weathered by time, are repaired and protected by heterogeneous assemblages where every detail counts. They evoke both the past and the present of the industry, while seeking to confront a world in perpetual change.

Set on heavy metal bases, these caparisoned figures combine terracotta and objects diverted from their initial use. Fire hydrants, electrical insulators and other industrial elements are cleaned, waxed or varnished, revealing a new aesthetic dimension.

In this sensitive and merciless universe, these Sentinels, Watchtowers, Pharos, Bunkers become silent witnesses of a muzzled and restrained reality, where humans and matter merge to question our relationship to protection, resilience and memory.
