Collection: Marguerite de Geuser

Marguerite has been fascinated by animal portraits since she discovered the technique of face painting at the Beaux-Arts in Nantes. In her paintings, Marguerite seeks to show the living animal as if it were going to leave the painting to enter the room in which it is located. Her paintings are made with acrylic paint on a golden background which gives a powerful luminosity to the painting no matter the wall on which it is located.

Wildlife inspires her with the immense variety of its plumage, its coats, and the shades that are hidden there. For her, it is a wonder with each observation.

Marguerite is particularly fond of making birds' wings beat, but also of making their hair stand on end, of hearing their hooves hammering, of giving their legs movement, of giving them breath.

The “gold” background of his paintings gives a sacred note to the animal, a tribute to Creation.
