Collection: Maryline Genest

Maryline Genest is a French painter and visual artist, a graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In her work, she explores the notion of habitat as a space in perpetual motion. Her creations, imbued with the movements of the body and animal and plant life, play with colors and materials: paper, plant-based inks, illuminated manuscripts, gouache, and oil painting on wooden logs. Through these compositions, she crafts dreamlike and unsettling narratives.

Alongside her artistic practice, she develops a sensitive and immersive approach to life drawing and teaching. Her work explores the links between the body, movement, and the artwork, blending drawing, painting, and performance.

She currently collaborates with prestigious institutions such as the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, within the framework of the NABA (amateur practice program), and the Giacometti Foundation, where she offers experimental sketching workshops combining live models and works of art. She has also collaborated with the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, where she contributed to restoration and colorization projects for artworks and zoological specimens for major exhibitions.

Her artistic commitment also extends to international projects and residencies, with exhibitions in France and abroad. She also engages in outreach to a wide audience, combining education and artistic research. She continues to explore these themes through new projects and temporary exhibitions.
