Min Sang Cho is a multidisciplinary artist whose unique background combines metal craftsmanship, product design, and architectural lighting engineering. Originally from South Korea, Minsang forged his artistic path through rigorous study and a diverse career that took him from Seoul National University, where he earned his BA and MA in metal craftsmanship, to the prestigious Royal College of Art in London for an MA in product design.

Minsang Cho began his career as a goldsmith before quickly moving into design and then lighting, embracing a range of disciplines that allowed him to explore the intersections of art, technology and functionality. A key moment was his six-year stint as a lighting consultant at Horea Lea, one of the UK’s most renowned architectural engineering firms. It was there that he honed his lighting engineering skills, while also nurturing the dream of starting his own studio.

By founding MSCHO Studio Ltd., Minsang has realized his vision of a lighting design firm that offers complete architectural lighting solutions, combining innovation, aesthetics and technical mastery. His expertise ranges from the design of artistic lighting fixtures to the realization of large-scale architectural projects. What distinguishes his work is this unique ability to marry the precision of artisanal techniques with the contemporary demands of mass production and additive manufacturing.

Min Sang Cho’s work has been featured in leading exhibitions around the world, including Milan Design Week, IFA Berlin, KBIS Las Vegas, and Light and Building Frankfurt. His clients include international brands such as IKEA, LG Electronics, and SNCF, for whom he has designed innovative lighting solutions.

His artistic approach aims to enrich living spaces by playing with light and shadow, and inviting a meditative contemplation of forms and materials.
