Born in 1975 in Taif, Mohammed Al-Thaqafi is an emblematic figure of contemporary sculpture in the Middle East. Holding a master's degree in sculpture, his work blends tradition and modernity, exploring profound themes such as identity, culture, and the role of women in Arab society.

Background and contributions

An active member of the Saudi Association of Fine Arts and chairman of the Fine Arts Committee in Taif, he plays a key role in promoting art. Founder of the Taakaz group, he also contributes to the integration of art into public spaces as an advisor for the beautification of the provinces of Taif and Maysan.

Exhibitions and recognition

With over 350 exhibitions since 1999, Al-Thaqafi has made a significant mark on the local and international art scene. His works have been featured at UNESCO (Austria, 2007), the Cairo Biennale (2011), and Art Dubai (2022). He has received prestigious awards, including the Sculpture Oscar at the Cairo Biennale and the Mahmoud Mokhtar Medal.
