Collection: Series "24 images in the life of a landscape" 2018

Twenty-Four Hours in the Life of a Landscape is a series of

twenty-four paintings.

These are still images that fancifully reconstruct the formula of movement

cinematic: 24 frames per second.

It is a work on the repetition of gesture and motif: you will put your work back on the loom a hundred times .

To paint is to start over what we have already done in order to arrive at something new.

For this series, it is living from landscape to landscape, season after season, through the test of time as in a long-distance journey.

Imagining a random pattern rather than painting on site, I reversed the process of things. It is no longer the painter who moves according to the pattern and the light, as Monet was able to do, it is the pattern that moves. Its source is a landscape buried in my memory, a mental image that resurfaces today to produce a sequel, a film in the form of paintings.

With this series, I also want to situate us in what constitutes the very origin of painting, the contemplation that color and its emotional power arouse.
