Collection: Vangelis Paterakis

Light, shadows, simplicity, modesty, authenticity. These words are synonymous with the very essence of Vangelis Paterakis. An artist of remarkable precision, his work, although grandiose, remains faithful to geometry and light, demonstrating a perfect balance between rigor and emotion.

Born in Piraeus, Vangelis Paterakis discovered the power of photography at an early age, a passion he pursues with unwavering loyalty. A dreamer and visionary, he possesses a rare talent: that of capturing what often escapes the gaze of others. A new angle, a subtle play of light, a reality imbued with dreams… his camera becomes the mirror of a rich and inspiring inner world.

An internationally renowned photographer based in Greece, he is a leading authority in the fields of architecture, design, hospitality and food photography. His prestigious clients include hotel brands such as Hilton, Aman Resort, Sofitel, Radisson Blu, Grecotel, as well as renowned architects. His work graces the pages of international magazines such as Wallpaper , Architectural Digest , Andrew Martin – Interior Design Review , Taschen , JJ Magazine and Yatzer .

A free and insatiable spirit, Vangelis Paterakis never ceases to explore new creative avenues. His travels to Cuba and Japan inspired his first solo painting exhibition, entitled “Virtual World” . His photographic work, marked by moving figures and striking shadow plays, gave rise to his exhibitions “Shadows” and its sequel “Shadow Life” . A work from “Shadows” was even selected by the National Theatre in London to illustrate a play by Caryl Churchill in 2015, “Here We Go” .

Whether through group or individual exhibitions, Vangelis Paterakis imposes a unique and unforgettable signature. Professionally, architectural photography is his preferred language, but on a personal level, he draws his satisfaction from the expression of raw and ephemeral emotions. His camera is his tool, his passion, his extension, immortalizing fragments of life wherever he is.

With Vangelis Paterakis, light and shadow become a dance, and each image an invitation to rediscover the world with renewed poetry.
