"End of the party" by Véro Maglioco
A vibrant silence hovers above the fragments of a past moment – a party, an embrace, a half-dissipated memory. In "Fin de la fête" , Véro Maglioco juxtaposes human fragility and modern asepsis, wrapping her collages in a translucent, almost suffocating plastic layer. This cold, shiny film, a symbol of protection and isolation, conceals a lively pulse beneath: fragments of cut paper, colors and shapes that still whisper the echoes of a shared warmth.
The artist captures here the essence of a post-Covid era, where anguish and solitude are adorned with transparencies, but where the human still struggles to emerge. Between the plastic layers, the paper becomes vulnerable and organic, recalling the softness of forgotten connections. The red threads, thin but heady, meander like living veins through the work, uniting each piece in a fragile but resolute dance.
With this piece, Maglioco creates much more than a visual object. She forges a meditation on our times and an invitation to reconsider the meaning of human connections. "Fin de la fête" is not an end in itself, but a call to rediscover love, in its most primitive and necessary forms.
