Inspired by the water nymph of Greek mythology, Liriope is a sculpture of striking dramatic intensity.
A bronze female body, frozen in a posture of surrender, slides onto a black cube with crumpled contours. Her hair, melted into a fluid material, seems to dissolve into an invisible wave, recalling her connection to water and the evanescence of time. The opposition between the cube's rigidity and the body's suppleness expresses a profound tension between struggle and letting go, between matter and movement.
Philippe Rude offers us a work imbued with poetry and mystery, in which the mythological figure becomes a metaphor for fragility and strength, forgetting and memory. A sculpture that touches the soul, suspended between dream and reality.
