Sophie Pénicaud observes both near and far. She meticulously sketches the near, pencil in hand, with infinite care. Nothing escapes her: the half-open window frame, the armchair, whatever the eye sees from its vantage point. She focuses on certain elements and transforms them into still lifes, always pleasing to the eye, imbued with a gentle way of life. She captures the "portrait" of the home like no one else, from the outside as well as the inside. This is her Grand Art.
