Collection: Viviane Ortiz Mauske

Painter & Textile Designer

Born in the Philippines in 1953, Viviane Ortiz Mauske is a painter and textile designer based in Chatou, France. A graduate in fine arts and architecture from Santo Tomas University in Manila, she comes from a line of artists: her grandfather was a professor of visual arts, her father a painter, and her sister a sculptor.

A prolific and passionate artist, Viviane constantly explores new visual horizons. She works with oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and India ink on a variety of supports such as canvas, wood, and textiles. Her art navigates between the figurative and the experimental, with a predilection for depicting women, scenes of everyday life in the Philippines, influences from the 1960s, and the aesthetics of Cubism.

Rejecting stylistic constraints, Viviane likes to "let the brush and pencil speak for themselves" to create authentic, vibrant, and deeply personal works. Her international career has led her to exhibit in Paris, Madrid, Vienna, Munich, New York, and Japan.

Affectionately nicknamed "Life", she also draws on her dreams to nourish a vibrant, colorful and emotional painting, which touches both the intimate and the universal.
