Confidences I and II
Confidences I and Confidences II form a series of two oil paintings that can be appreciated individually or complemented as a diptych. Each work presents two faces of sad monsters in profile, eyes closed, in a posture evoking intimacy and gentleness. The warm hues dominate these paintings, with shades of orange-red and yellow, creating a warm and soothing atmosphere. These bright colors seem to envelop the characters, reinforcing the idea of a silent and internal communication, like thoughts or emotions shared without a word.
The works are structured in several boxes, an element that creates a kind of fragmentation, evoking the way in which confidences are built in pieces, by small revealed touches. The organic forms that accompany these faces add a fluid and lively dimension to the composition, recalling the nature of intimate speech, which takes shape and transforms itself according to emotions.
The sad monsters with closed eyes invite the viewer to enter this silent intimacy, to immerse themselves in this atmosphere of confidential sharing. The boxes, like the organic forms, reflect the complexity of thoughts, feelings that intersect and respond to each other. Confidences questions the notion of internal and shared dialogue, and pushes the viewer to wonder what is hidden, revealed, and how intimate connections are woven, sometimes in silence, in the warmth of a shared moment.
