In February 1999, a 15-day trip to Crete, expertly organized by my mother.
We rented a car which allowed us, from Heraklion, to tour Crete along the coast, to crisscross the inland hills covered with olive trees and to visit some monasteries.
At this time of year, few tourists visited the area.
I brought my outdoor easel and set it up in different places to immortalize the landscapes I encountered.
The almond trees were already in bloom in the valleys in February, and they were fragrant. Their white color, tinged with pink, stood out against the surrounding landscape. Nature has a way of dazzling me.
