The brilliance is inscribed within a painting of traces and imprints, where the body is no longer depicted but suggested by its passage. On a dense background, worked in layers of oil and acrylic, the surface seems to have been tested, rubbed, marked by a contained energy. The nuances of deep blues and mineral grays compose an almost interior space, a mental territory traversed by tensions and silences.
At the center, an incomplete circular form appears like a halo or a luminous scar. This irregular line, both fragile and assertive, evokes the imprint of a body in motion, a gesture of protection or liberation. Lighter, almost burnt, bursts of light break the chromatic depth, like flashes of light after erasure.
In L'éclat , Sarah Fouqueau does not represent the body: she evokes its memory. Painting becomes a space for breathing, a place where reconstruction takes place after the rupture.
The work bears witness to a pivotal moment, where the material retains the trace of an essential passage — that of a body which rises, asserts itself and leaves, in the silence of the support, a vibrant presence.
