With Apokálypsis 2 , Tereza Palaiologou offers a striking vision of the contemporary city, frozen in a moment of silent tension. Skyscrapers rise like blocks of memory and power, their geometric lines carving into a heavy, almost menacing sky. Nothing collapses, and yet everything seems fragile.
The composition plays on an overwhelming verticality, accentuated by a low-angle viewpoint that places the viewer at the heart of a monumental and unstable space. The light, sparse and sparing, seems borrowed, provisional—as if it could be extinguished at any moment. The bare trees in the foreground introduce an organic and vulnerable presence, recalling humanity's place in relation to architecture and its symbols of power.
In this work, architecture is not merely structure: it becomes a psychological state. Palaiologou captures "the moment before"—not the apocalypse itself, but the realization that the familiar can suddenly shift. Between immobility and latent threat, Apokálypsis 2 questions our relationship to the city, to security, and to the illusion of permanence.
Offered in a limited edition, the artwork is available in several formats and finishes, from a print only to a Plexiglas finish with a liquid glass effect, enhancing the depth, density, and luminous intensity of the image. Each copy comes with a certificate of authenticity.
A powerful and introspective photograph, where urban space becomes a mirror of our contemporary anxieties.
