A duel suspended in time.
The title evokes the theatrical irony of a foretold duel, like a line from a swashbuckling drama. On a stable base, a piece of dark, rough wood evokes a vertical, almost human silhouette. Balanced atop it, a white sphere of Caen stone seems to bite into the iron—or be bitten by it—a sharp tool, a remnant of an ancient mechanism, affixed as a provocation.
The contrast of materials (the warmth of wood, the coldness of metal, the softness of stone) reinforces the feeling of suspended tension, of silent warning. It is a work that tells of a confrontation: between elements, eras, intentions.
A discreet homage to the art of the word and the duel, where each detail is an unspoken word.
