In this dazzling work, Philippe Trefois summons the raw energy of gesture and the fury of instinct. Two almost human presences face each other without meeting, traversed by red filaments, like veins exposed to the sky or cries suspended in the air.
Forms distort, curl up, explode. A cage is suggested in one face, a screaming mouth in the other. There is breath, struggle, chaos in these bodies, half-organism, half-machine, almost flayed. And always, at the heart of the abstraction, the silent drama of the human figure in search of itself.
