A swimmer in a diving position stands ready to take the plunge... into a bathtub. Here, the world of athletic performance collides with the minimalist domestic world. The irony arises from the discrepancy between the body's momentum and the smallness of the pool.
The artist plays with the absurd with finesse, highlighting the contradictions of our aspirations: the desire for grandeur within overly narrow frameworks, or the extreme preparation for trivial challenges. The pared-down decor reinforces the theatrical and absurd aspect of the scene, in an atmosphere that is both chic and surreal.
