Course
With “Cours,” Suzanne Larrieu offers us an enigmatic figure wrapped in textured and tinted bands, like layers of memories and experiences inscribed on the body. This sculpture, made of recycled cardboard, is crossed with red and dark patterns, perhaps symbolizing the journey of life, the trials and bonds that mark our passage.
The character’s upright and serene posture, combined with an expression that is both gentle and resolute, inspires a reflection on the journey of each being, this “course” of life in which we are all engaged. The figurative motifs that adorn the sculpture, like fragments of memory, seem to capture moments of travel, shadows of encounters and silhouettes of shared moments.
“Cours” is a poignant work, a metaphor for life itself: made of layers of experience, complexity, and often hidden beauty. Larrieu expresses the power of an ordinary life, where each step and each encounter leaves an indelible mark. An invitation to contemplate our own path and to honor the stories that shape us.
