Echo I and Echo II are a series of two oil paintings, designed to be enjoyed separately or together, creating a diptych. Each painting features four faces, all facing the center, as if a silent interaction or shared reflection is underway.
The varied hues of the faces and backgrounds symbolize the diversity of human identities, emotions and experiences.
Despite this diversity, a unity emerges: all these different faces converge towards a single central point, expressing the idea that, despite our differences, we all share a common humanity. This play of contrast between diversity and unity evokes a reflection on the way in which our individualities coexist and respond to each other in the world.
Looking at the faces turned towards the center, the viewer is invited to ask what it means to meet, to understand, to exchange beyond appearances. Each face is a reflection of the inner and outer world, like echoes resonating in each other.
