Echo II
Oil painting, 73 x 60 cm, 2024 Paris
Echo I and Echo II are a series of two oil paintings, designed to be enjoyed separately or together, creating a diptych. Each painting features four faces, all facing the center, as if a silent interaction or shared reflection is taking place.
The varied hues of the faces and backgrounds symbolize the diversity of human identities, emotions, and experiences.
Despite this diversity, a unity emerges: all these different faces converge towards a single central point, expressing the idea that, despite our differences, we all share a common humanity. This play of contrasts between diversity and unity evokes a reflection on how our individualities coexist and respond to each other in the world.
Looking at the faces turned toward the center, the viewer is invited to ask what it means to meet, to understand, to exchange beyond appearances. Each face is a reflection of the inner and outer world, like echoes resonating within each other.
By contemplating these works, the viewer can feel a personal echo, an inner resonance that pushes him to reflect on his own identities, relationships and connections with others.
