In Cat Studie 1 , Sarah Polyakov delicately opens a series where the intimacy between woman and feline becomes a silent, poetic and eternal language. Carried by a limited palette of soft ochre, velvety gray and finely drawn black, the work evokes old engravings as much as a contemporary breath.
The young woman's peaceful gaze, fixed on the spectator, contrasts with the distant nobility of the cat, a totemic figure who seems to watch over the round fruit she holds against her heart - an orange or perhaps a moon, an alchemy of sweetness and mystery.
The dancing lines that encircle the figures suggest a vibrant inner world, a whisper of the soul floating around this suspended scene. Here, each line is a whisper, each color a caress, each gaze an invitation to tenderness.
