In 1996 I traveled to Jordan with my aunt. We traveled from north to south, from the capital, Aman, to the port of Aqaba on the Red Sea.
Passionate about the different civilizations that inhabited the places, I was able to discover the Nabataean remains, the people who created the site of Petra, those of the Romans in Aman and other places.
For my watercolors I wanted to paint different characters that I came across: soldiers, camel drivers, flute players, etc. I created them from my own photos.
During our visit to Jordan we were able to see the work of local artisans. Here is a blacksmith in full activity. Almost black background with red and orange colors for the fire and the clothing.
