Scene reimagined from a visit to Tiracol Fort, an ancient Goan fort located on the border of the states of Goa and Maharashtra, India.
The scene evokes a kind of "music room" (remember the Satyajit Ray film?) where a young Indian woman plays the sitar while dreaming of escaping far away, by sea or through the jungle.
For me, it is a Goan metaphor for pandemic dreams, born out of lockdown. This watercolor was done just after my return from Goa, in April 2020.
