This is one of the many rural scenes I've been fortunate enough to observe in India. This is an imaginary landscape, located in the south of the country. It could be in Kerala or Tamil Nadu, near the ghats or a mountainous area.
In this typical Indian landscape, a village can be seen in the distance, and in the foreground, a sacred pond and its temple. Around the pond are tropical flowers, with a banyan tree in the background. Two young women, deep in conversation, are carrying water. On the right, at the back of the scene, we can see rice fields.
Rural India is one of extraordinary beauty and serenity.
