A face rises slowly from the trunk, as if sculpted by time itself. The eye, deep, calm, almost melancholic, scrutinizes without haste. Observing Passersby is an invitation to look up, to slow down, to notice what ordinarily escapes us.
In Andisheh Moghtaderpour's work, nature is never a mere backdrop: it is being, memory, and a mirror. Here, the tree becomes a guardian, a silent witness to our passage. The pleated bark tells the story of a rooted life, while the furrows of paint become wrinkles marking the invisible bond between human and plant.
The artist lets a figure emerge, without ever forcing the line. As if it were the wood itself, in a surge of awakening, looking at us. As if the forest possessed a gaze—not to judge, but to remember.
With this work, Andisheh continues his exploration of the living as an inhabited presence. A song of matter and soul, discreet and moving.
