Deep in the Indian jungle imagined by Kipling and Loti, we come across a scene of pure fantasy.
A black panther named Bagheera leaps into a rushing stream, his eyes fixed on a nymph perched in a blue banyan tree. Beside him, another nymph strokes her horse, and in the upper part of the scene, a third nymph converses with a guru.
The whole atmosphere is dreamlike, bathed in vibrant colors, inspired by my travels in the real Indian jungle.
This painting, part of a series, is also influenced by some of my favorite masters, including Gauguin and Le Douanier Rousseau.
