With KO n1 , Mounya Kecha signs a powerful and striking critique on the imbalances and paradoxes of globalization. At the center of the composition, an iconic bottle emerges from a cloud of blue and white hues, symbolizing water, a vital and precious resource. The contrast between the lightness of the splashes and the imposing character of the bottle creates a striking visual tension.
This work evokes the excessive power of large multinationals, such as the local monopoly on water to produce drinks, to the detriment of populations in need of drinking water. It poses an essential question: how can a drink become more accessible than water itself, a vital element?
Kecha uses the apparent simplicity of this icon of popular culture to make it a symbol of economic domination and injustice. KO n1 confronts us with the urgency of reflecting on our consumption choices and their global repercussions.
