Inspired by the Padaung women, known as “giraffe women,” this work pays homage to a fascinating tradition where the body becomes a living memory of culture. Seated, with her child against her, the woman radiates a quiet strength, in a composition that is both vertical and enveloping. The patinated terracotta highlights the volumes, the folds of the clothing, the metal rings stretching the neck, and the peaceful features of her face.
