The Hautes Alpes
The Hautes-Alpes are the department of origin of my family and more precisely the hamlet of Paroirs 2km from the small town of Veynes. My mother did the genealogy of my ancestors and was able to go back to 1610 and the Blanc family was already in the hamlet, living in one of the two oldest houses there.
I have spent every summer vacation there from my earliest childhood to this day.
It is a region that I have traveled by car, by bike and on foot, hiking, on the many paths leading to magnificent mountain lakes.
This is how I created in 1999, several watercolors of my beloved mountains and the small villages and houses nestling in the valleys. I painted them on the spot, equipped with my outdoor easel attached to the luggage rack of my bicycle.
I hope to share with you my enthusiasm for this magnificent region through my works.
This is the village of Serres, 12 km south of my hamlet of Paroirs, steeply up the glacial lock. It is summer and the roofs stand out orange against the brown rock. The sky is stormy. It is August in the afternoon and it is still very hot.
