In Dialogue au féminin , Philippe Trefois gives substance to the silences, the glances, the gestures of a mute but vibrant intimacy. His raw, almost primitive line explores the contours of the soul rather than those of the body. The two figures, simultaneously fused and distinct, hold themselves in an embrace of pigments and black lines drawn in charcoal, in a composition that seems to emerge from an ancient memory.
The colors—scorched earth, carmine, moss green, ochre—clash and blend, conveying the complexity of shared emotions: sisterhood, support, desire, perhaps rivalry. The faces, sketched on the edge of abstraction, stare at us with their asymmetrical eyes, both curious and absent, like witnesses to an inner world.
