An initiatory journey to the afterlife
Immersed in a deep blue, the realm of Osiris opens before us, imbued with mystery and sacred symbolism. Anubis, guardian of souls, watches over us, ready to guide the deceased through the seven gates leading to the final judgment.
The gold and embroidered ornaments evoke the richness of ancient temples, while the glittering ribbons and pearls recall the offerings placed in the tombs of the pharaohs. Each door is a test, a threshold to cross, a step on the path to eternity.
On the right, the sacred symbols of ancient Egypt come to life: the scales of Ma'at, weighing the soul against a feather; the scarab, symbol of rebirth; and the ankh, key to eternal life. These elements, enriched with relief and material, make the work lively, almost ritualistic.
"The 7 Gates of Osiris" is an invitation to explore the mysteries of the afterlife, to follow the path of souls in a journey where light and justice reign supreme."

🌟 A fascinating painting for fans of ancient Egypt and immortal legends.
Once arrived in the kingdom of Duat (the land of the gods), the deceased had to pass through seven gates, reciting a magic formula without making a mistake at each stop. If he succeeded, he arrived in the Hall of Osiris, the place of judgment .
It was here that the gods of death conducted the " weighing of the heart ," a ceremony in which a person's earthly deeds were judged to have been virtuous. The weighing of the heart was overseen by the jackal-headed god, Anubis , while Thoth , the god of writing, recorded the result.
Forty-two gods listened to the confession of the deceased, who proclaimed himself innocent of any crime against the divine and the human social order. Then, the person's heart was placed on one side of a scale, with a feather representing Ma'at , the goddess of truth and justice, placed in the other. If the heart weighed the same as the feather, the person was justified and granted immortality. If not, he was devoured by the goddess Amemet . This meant that the deceased would not survive in the afterlife. When a pharaoh passed the test, he merged with the god Osiris . Then he would travel through the underworld on a solar boat with the gods to heaven, where he would enjoy eternal life.
