A broken dialogue, a striking contrast
In a play of light and shadow, L'indifférence captures a silent tension, a moment when souls cross paths without understanding each other. The mare on the left, animated by an almost feverish movement, seems to be searching for an echo, a response in the invisible wind that stirs her mane. But facing her, the horse on the right, frozen, turns away in an icy stillness, embodying emotional distance, the absence of reaction.
The dark, fluid background envelops the scene in a misty atmosphere, as if time were suspended, accentuating the weight of the silence between these two beings. The use of spectral white, minimalist and precise, gives the silhouettes an almost ghostly dimension, emphasizing their respective isolation.
