When the past is reflected in the current
Memory of Water is a poetic exploration of the Argenteuil Bridge, revisited by Patrick Fuvel through a prism of artistic mythification. By reconfiguring the banks of the Seine in the form of a Roman aqueduct, the artist plays with notions of history and modernity, blending reality and fantasy in a captivating composition.
The majestic arches, bathed in soft, diffused light, recall ancient architecture, evoking a time when water and stone were silent witnesses to past eras. The reflection of the aqueduct in the water, which stretches like a transparent veil beneath the bridge, adds an extra dimension, blurring the boundaries between past and present, truth and imagination.
The work invites the viewer to contemplate the connection between water, a symbol of fluidity and memory, and the human structures that attempt to contain and control it. Each detail meticulously painted by Patrick Fuvel, each nuance of color, contributes to creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere, a visual journey beyond appearances.
✨ A journey along the water, where the present moment dialogues with the memory of time.
