Broken lines, bent mind—the weight of the interior.
In Soldat fatigué , Félix Lamalle condenses into an angular silhouette all the tension of a body in struggle. Not that of visible war, but that, more muted, of internal combat. This soldier, with geometric and almost cubist features, advances bent under an abstract pressure, in a space structured with oppressive diagonals.
The warm, deep colors—ochres, dark greens, earthy browns—seem to vibrate with contained energy. The eye is drawn to the repetition of angles, steps, and mental or physical barriers. And yet, at the heart of this fatigue, one strength remains: the strength to continue.
With this work, Félix Lamalle evokes resilience, the solitude of effort, the silent nobility of those who, day after day, face their storms.
