In Xtrem , Phil-H unleashes the full energy of his palette by juxtaposing a dense, matte black background, spray-painted, with a monumental "X" applied with a spatula in a bright yellow. The structured striations of the thick lacquer create a living relief, where the light dances on each edge. Around the central sign, delicate black splashes punctuate the surface, instilling an organic rhythm that contrasts with the geometry of the gesture.
The acid green peeking through the splashes makes the background shimmer, offering a subtle vibrancy and unexpected depth. The high-gloss varnish seals the whole, enhancing the contrasts and imbuing the canvas with an almost electric intensity.
