The Hautes Alpes
The Hautes-Alpes is the department of origin of my family, and more precisely the hamlet of Les Paroirs, 2km from the small town of Veynes. My mother traced my ancestors' genealogy and was able to go back to 1610, and the Blanc family was already in the hamlet, living in one of its two oldest houses.
I have spent every summer holiday there since my earliest childhood until this day.
It is a region that I have crisscrossed by car, bicycle and on foot, hiking, on the many paths leading to magnificent mountain lakes.
That is how, in 1999, I created several watercolors of my beloved mountains and the small villages and houses nestled in the valleys. I painted them from life, equipped with my outdoor easel attached to the luggage rack of my bicycle.
I hope to share my enthusiasm for this magnificent region with you through my works.
I painted these plum trees along the little road bordering the back of our garden. It's the peak of plum season; it's summer. Admire these twisted trunks; the plum trees are already quite old. In the background, you can make out a barn with two horses grazing peacefully in the field.
