In this untitled work, Fausto Borge creates a dialogue between fire, metal, and time to give birth to an intensely vibrant surface. At the center of the composition, a zone of blistered, hollowed, almost coral-like material unfolds like a boiling point. The cavities, craters, and irregular reliefs seem to bear witness to an ongoing process of transformation—as if the metal retained the memory of a burn, a blast, or an erosion.
The metallic nuances, oscillating between patinated browns, smoky grays, and golden glints, lend the whole an almost mineral depth. This singular topography evokes both a terrestrial landscape and an inner cartography, allowing the poetry of traces and accidents to emerge.
True to his approach, Borge uses a blowtorch to sculpt the metal and reveal hidden presences. Here, the support becomes a palimpsest where each alteration tells a fragment of time.
The work invites slow observation, an immersion in the details, where abstraction takes on an almost organic dimension.
