In this work, Fausto Borge shapes a vibrant surface where matter becomes memory. The aluminum, heated and then etched with a blowtorch, reveals a tactile landscape with multiple reliefs. The surface seems animated by an underground energy: swirls, furrows, and areas of erosion trace organic, almost geological movements, as if the metal preserved the traces of an invisible passage.
The variations in tone—from warm brown to darker highlights—give the piece a mineral depth, evoking both the roughness of the earth and the patina of an antique object. A few points of light emerge from the relief, like breakthroughs or remnants of a previous gesture, recalling the way the artist brings buried presences to light.
