In this composition, Fausto Borge evokes the memory of ancient surfaces, those that time transforms and adorns with a silent patina. The painting unfolds like a luminous territory, worked through successive layers of oil, then scraped, incised, and abraded, until a complex network of traces and imprints is revealed.
The dominant ochre, almost solar, oscillates between the warmth of the earth and the gleam of oxidized metal. It seems to breathe, to fragment, to recompose itself under the action of the hand. The irregularities of the material—scars, fissures, reliefs—evoke ancestral walls, urban vestiges, or even inner geographies marked by wear and reconstruction.
