In this monumental variation on Ancient Bread Recipe , Fausto Borge continues his exploration of primitive writing and the foundational traces of humanity. Against a deep ochre background, worked like ancient stratified earth, sculpted aluminum signs unfold, arranged in almost ritualistic lines. Each character seems to emerge from an intuitive, organic gesture, as if the artist had allowed the material to speak, revealing a buried language.
The work evokes an archaic tablet, an immemorial transmission whose meaning has been lost but whose presence remains vibrant. By playing on the contrast between the earthy warmth of the support and the almost liquid sheen of the metal, Borge establishes a tension between origin and modernity, between cultural memory and abstraction.
