With a striking minimalism, Alea jacta est (“the die is cast”) offers an enigmatic, almost totemic silhouette, emerging from the unexpected assembly of an ancient metal tool and a small geometric head in wood and stone.
The vertical slenderness of the structure evokes a being frozen in a moment of decision, suspended between past and future. The work pays homage to the act of choosing, to the irreversibility of a moment, while subtly playing with the balance of materials and forms.
