A strange balance is at play here between the intimate and the elsewhere. I arrive where I am a stranger seems to represent a traveler who has barely arrived, suspended between two spheres, two times or two worlds.
The sculpture's refined form—a sinuous stem, polished pebbles, a piece of wood stretched like a sail—embody the vulnerability of the unknown, the humility of someone who discovers themselves outside their own boundaries. In the silence of the metal and the softness of the stone, Pascal Le Berre evokes uprooting, but also the vital impulse of curiosity, acceptance, and encounter.
An ode to otherness, discreet and profoundly human.
