A solitary figure standing on the edge of a choice, Jeune fou élotant entre deux diagonals seems to embody the suspended moment when movement is interrupted, when doubt sets in. Like a chess piece that has come to life, the work oscillates between stability and momentum.
The stone sphere, full of promise, overlooks a slender and fragile silhouette. The wood, more solid, recalls the anchoring or perhaps the stakes of the upcoming coup. The title, mischievous and melancholic, evokes both strategy and intimate hesitations.
Pascal Le Berre gives us here a disguised self-portrait of every decision to be made: poetic, playful, profoundly human.
